Les élus du Département Anthony Arciero, Gérard Lambert-Motte, Laetitia Boisseau, et Pierre-Edouard Eon également maire de Méry-sur-Oise, et Bernard Tailly, Président du SMAPP ont lancé la campagne de plantation 2021-2022. Celle-ci permettra de planter une centaine d’hectares, sur les parcelles déjà propriété du Syndicat mixte d’aménagement de la Plaine de Pierrelaye-Bessancourt. Cela représente 233 400 plants de 24 essences différentes telles que : alisier blanc, charme cormier, églantier, érable plane, érable de Montpellier, merisier, tilleul, cèdre du Liban… Le boisement de la Plaine nécessitera encore 6 à 8 ans. La forêt sera mature dans 30 à 50 ans selon les essences.
